As VP of External Affairs, Ethan:

Directs recruitment efforts.

Collaborates with other departments to plan and execute the end of the semester banquet.

Oversees the entire Externals branch (historian, secretary, membership coordinator, social events coordinator and public relations coordinator).

Provides new ideas for media and social events.

As VP of Finance, Emily:

Oversees and manages SCout’s budget throughout each semester, including record of expenditures, submission of reimbursements, and Venmo.

Manages the venmo, grant, and bank accounts 

Keeps a ledger of all expenses 

Works with the funding coordinator to secure funding from outside sources 

Maintains communication with financial partners

As VP of Operations, Margaux:

Holds trainings for new members and SLs 

Organizes and attend weekly SLEM meetings 

Assists with SL and EM interviews 

Schedules and sort SLs into sessions 

Assists with EM planning and deadlines

Branch of External Affairs

Organize General Members into sessions at the beginning of each semester.

Purchase and distribute SCout T-shirts to General Members. Purchase and distribute name tags for Eboard and Session Leaders.

Maintain and update session points.

Maintain and update roster and membership statuses.

Create and send out weekly recap newsletters and meeting reminds to all SCout members

Take notes on the most important points during all E-board meeting 

Draft and send out semester alumni newsletters

Maintain a positive and consistent social media presence on all platforms, primarily Instagram.

Create flyers & promotional materials for Science Outreach events.

Collaborate with the Experiment Managers to design the booklets.

Create graphics and designs for merchandise and social media.

BRANCH OF FINANCE

Utilize our 501(c)(3) designation to obtain more sponsors for SCout.

Find and apply to grants in collaboration with the finance branch.

Locate and obtain sponsors and promote sponsorship packages.

Assist the Funding Coordinator in exploring new avenues for funding.

File taxes every fiscal year to maintain SCout’s 501c(3) status.

Write the Good Neighbor’s grant application, attend semesterly meetings, collect data for updated forms.

Obtain funding for various club branches from USG and other miscellaneous sources.

Work in obtaining club bank accounts and donation accepting capabilities.

Coordinate fundraisers with the finance branch, Social Events Coordinator, Outreach Coordinators, and Public Relations Coordinator as a fundraising team.
